courtesty of The Stowaways:
Lazee Lavenders - Cassette EP - is an 8 song ep of surf pop. Fronted by Ryan Frailich, this could be the soundtrack to your perfect beach day, and with summer on it's way that seems all too possible. it's pretty simple stuff, but when listening to on cassette tape, I seem to really enjoy it. this gets my stamp of approval. 1st pressing limited to 50 purple tapes.
Lunch Ray - Don't Die w/ In A Dream - The first song is recorded so low that it is almost unlistenable. I literally am blasting the tape, and i can barely hear anything. so i would assume the levels were off during recording or it was dubbed poorly. Lunch Ray is Joey callanan playing garage psych songs with just a guitar. The fourth songs is kind of surfy and i like it. theres some percussion here and there but not a lot.
Rebecca's Room - S/T - Rebecca's Room is Andrew Gillis from Canada. He kind of sounds like a thirteen year old conor oberst. it rules. his songs are really poppy and really cutesy. on the a side he sings songs about sea green hair and hide and seek. the b side is dubbed poorly. there's nothing for a few minutes and then out of nowhere there's a psych song, and then a very unexpected and very jangly cover of hybrid moments. theres not really a better way to win me over than a cover of hybrid moments on a poorly dubbed cassette tape. you win Rebecca you win. Or should i say Andrew? i'm not sure. limited to 25 copies.
